PHDGEven at $52 one have to be a complete IDIOT to pay even half that amount for a damn toenail cutter! What ever they’re selling at your local drugstore works fine. There is no damn “BMW” of nail cutters/clippers—they all work!

ZaneMy dear, I have never come across a nail clipper that didn't cut my nails. And of the five or six I have kicking around between medicine cabinets and luggage, I can assure you, none of them cost more than a few dollars each. My sense of the situation is that no one is actually suffering from a case of dull clippers. There merely exists a small portion of the population who have convinced themselves that their, more expensive, clippers do a superior job--much the way one imagines good booze tastes better when sipped from fine crystal glassware as opposed to a Dixie cup. And just between you and me, even I believe that ;- )

RayFSame could be said for fountain pens, headphones, knives, keyboards, etc. Most the things on this site are premium, unnecessary, over priced for the basic function, etc etc etc. Sure, a bic pen writes. So does a mont blanc fountain pen with gold leaf, or like an audemars piguet telling time just as well as a $15 casio. They all work! In fact the casio has a calculator, lets see your rolex do THAT ;-) With all these items the quality is nicer and generally they tend to preform better and last longer. In this case, the clippers cut far more smoothly and will hold an edge longer than a cheap pair. They last longer, dont rust, don't hold onto bacteria, the cutting edges lines up perfectly, etc. Your sense of the situation that dull clippers don't exist is simply incorrect. Just like a nice watch might have a higher bph or keep time more accurately than a cheap one, or a fountain pen writes smoother than a bic. Really it's all relative to what you value. Sure, they all preform the same basic function, but to call everyone who values a quality pair of clippers an IDIOT is a bit foolish, don't you think?

RayFEven at $100 one have to be a complete IDIOT to pay even half that amount for a damn watch! What ever they’re selling at your local drugstore works fine. There is no damn “BMW” of watches—they all work! Even at $100 one have to be a complete IDIOT to pay even half that amount for a damn fountain pen! What ever they’re selling at your local drugstore works fine. There is no damn “BMW” of pens—they all work! Even at $100 one have to be a complete IDIOT to pay even half that amount for a damn pair of speakers! What ever they’re selling at your local walmart works fine. There is no damn “BMW” of speakers—they all work! Even at $100 one have to be a complete IDIOT to pay even half that amount for a damn pair of headphones! What ever they’re selling at your local walmart works fine. There is no damn “BMW” of headphones—they all work! You have bought all of the following: Imagine spending $250 on a Seiko. My $15 casio from the drugstore works just as well! Imagine spending $300 on speakers. My $100 computer monitor has built in speakers, I can hear just fine! Imagine spending $100 on a fountain pen. My Bic rollerball writes just as well! I could go on but I think the point is clear: You are the worlds biggest idiot Ray! Congratulations!

ZaneAnd you, my dear, in addition to having lived a pitifully sheltered life, have no taste (the one thing you can't buy at any price ;- )

RayFOhh Ray, you crack me up. Your comments always make me chuckle and bring a smile to my face. Probably because 99% of the time I agree or feel the same way as you, towards whatever product is being discussed. Not to mention that feeling of validity I get when knowing I'm not the only one who can see through other people's BS. Cheers!
