I got this pen last drop and I'm trying so hard to like it but it's still getting me down. You get three interchangeable heads with the pen ( Orange, Silver, Black) the silver head on mine wouldn't screw down but after a short email with the manufacturer they sent me out a replacement as well as a few refills so its nice to see they act quickly about faults.
But still there are issues. No matter how hard I tighten all the screws and heads they still manage to loosen themselves in my pocket. The refill that came with it is very temperamental and works intermittently, while I know this isn't a HMM issue I feel it reflects poorly on what is otherwise one of the most interesting and useful pens I've come across in a long time.
The aluminium pen body tends to scratch after a short period just from clicking into the metal ruler body. While this isn't an issue for myself as i like the "used" look I feel like others may have a problem with it in the long run. My last point would be the magnets. Honestly I'd still prefer if the pen screwed into the body. I feel like the magnets (on my pen at least) just aren't strong enough. It takes very little movement against the pen body to get it to fall out and I often find the pen and ruler detached from themselves in my pocket.
Those points are just my own experience with the pen. I love it to bits. It's a unique talking piece and I refuse to give up on it easily. As a designer it has been an amazing addition to my EDC but at the end of the day it still has its faults and you would get better results from a Pilot G2 and a smaller ruler.
** Since I've last posted this both refills I got with the pen have stopped working. I'm really starting to hate uni-ball refills because of this. If anyone has any suggestions for refill substitutes I'd love to hear it. Nothing more frustrating when you have a full ink cartridge that won't write.
