Here's a few shots of what production looks like. First the hides are cut into strips just a little wider than the footprint of the tray cutter, to make them easier to maneuver through the press:

The press is basically I giant, hand operated cookie cutter with a big lever arm that presses a bladed die through the leather to make the cut. This is the complete stack of trays before studs are set:

The studs are also set by hand using a mallet, one at a time. The trays are just about finished now and should be shipping to Massdrop in the next few days.
