Are the edges dyed on the black belt? The edges on the dark brown from the last drop were not.
Here's a bit more visual reference for anyone debating the new 1.25" width.

I have corter leather standard belt 34 size and am using second hole from the end of the strap. I want little longer belt. Usually I wore 32-33 size jeans. Tellason 32, 3sixteen 33, LVC 33, rogue territory 32, Can I go with 36? I joined the drop with 36 size black belt.
RL07Based on those numbers I think that 36 was the right call. Thanks for joining!

Hi all, I hope you will all consider buying leather alternatives. I know most people think leather is just a waste product from the beef industry, but it's not the case. It is more on par with the the fur industry.
These days there are many products that look as good as leather and are softer and stronger, such as those made from microfibre. I'm not trying to sell anything so do your own research - I would just like people to make a more informed choice that creates less pollution and less harm, so that we can all protect the future for our families.

AwesomeTomJesus, way to derail a conversation for your own ends, Morrissey. Long-winded diatribes like this just turn people off to the ideas you support.

JohnnyCreditAre you saying that you're not going to help the planet, because you don't like a conversation you weren't involved in? Is that short enough for you? :P

This is a much nicer belt than the unfinished harness leather belt that sold on the last belt drop. The dye is much more even and deep and the edges are beveled and dyed too. Latigo leather will hold up for almost a lifetime for most wearers and holds its shape. It's not as heavy duty as harness leather which is more suitable for gun and work belts which may need to bear a heavy load without losing shape or sagging. But there are some drawbacks. One is that this belt doesn't come with keeper to secure the excess length after securing the belt with the buckle. You'll have to depend on belt loops for that. The other is that the buckle looks to be secured with rivets rather than Chicago screws. That means you can't change up buckles. Lastly, this one ain't cheap. In fact, the retail price is absurd and way out of line. You can find belts made of the same quality as this one on eBay for one hell of a lot less money than even being sold here. Same thickness, same weight, same dye process, same attention to detail. Some of them will even come with a keeper and the buckle will be secured with Chicago screws. Maybe not always available there but usually to be found there.

Yup, I would buy immediately if it had a keeper loop.

ArgyBargyYou might want to use this link to eBay, http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-5-Handmade-Premium-Bridle-Leather-Belt-Stainless-Steel-Roller-Buckle-Chestnut-/131641236133?var=&hash=item1ea66ddaa5. Once you get there, you'll see a belt much like this one in 9/10 bridle leather with the same finish but with a leather keeper and a buckle secured with Chicago screws so you can change up the buckle if you. Buckles are very cheap on eBay or you can go to conchos.com. Once you pull up this link, save the belt to your watched items in eBay and then select the "similar items" option from the drop down screen. You see all the belts you could ever want.

And also what's the difference between bridle and latigo leather?
PietroLatigo is generally more flexible and better suited for wet conditions. Latigo is both chrome and vegetable tanned, bridle is just vegetable tanned.

Will the amber color darken with time?
PietroYes, but not as dramatically or quickly as natural veg tan

Thanks for bringing this drop back! Been waiting a while for this as I missed the last one.
By the way, could someone tell me what is the jacket that is shown in one of the pictures?
WilyThanks! It's a filson/Levi's collaboration from some years ago.

Does the leather for this belt stretch much?
bnard893Not much, certainly not enough that I would recommend sizing down to accommodate for it.

Wow! Now I have to just say that was a valiant effort. But you're a smart fellow. So you know it was entirely in vain. I thought for a moment that we might have some common ground. But we don't. If we do, it's entirely inconsequential. You see, you can cite all the sources you like but you know at best I may briefly peruse a few and that's all. Now, I could cite a list for you. But I wouldn't lay the weight of that reading on you because I've been at this for so many years. I have an entire library of this stuff written by some of the most respected scholars whom you would likely recognize here and there. Going all the way back to 1971, I remember reading Diet for a Small Planet, an early landmark work on surviving on plant life alone. I believed it would work then and I still do today. But I believe even more strongly that it's completely inferior diet and not meant for humans. So when you speak of the of the myth of a plant based diet being inferior, what I hear is someone who has been passively radicalized to the my that plant based diets aren't inferior. Regardless of what any of your sources relate, any brief look into anthropology on the subject will tell you differently and that's based on empirical research. But even without depending on that, you find that even your plant based societies will take advantage of any meat on which they can lay their hands. Do you know what country boasts the greatest proportion of 100 plus year olds? Italy. And Italians have never shied away from beef, pork, poultry, cheese and fish. Now it's convenient to demonize saturated fat and cholesterol. But the fact is that we benefit from both and there's no good evidence that these foods advance cholesterol levels that isn't subject to debate. In fact, without adequate cholesterol, the stuff of hormone production, we wouldn't last very long. I must also decline your challenge to a three week whole food diet which to me is nothing but another faulty cleansing diet all of which are doubtful and certainly not necessary if one consumes a decent diet which does include meat or something of animal nature. So I guess we part on this note. I have no further questions or needs for sources. And I do believe that animal based nutrition is here to stay. I further intend to stay with it although I'll do all in my power to promote cleaning it up. Otherwise, good luck in your endeavors and may they reveal the truth whatever it may be.
