This is a much better option. It is both cheaper and has a va panel. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824022583&cm_re=samsung_c27hg70-_-24-022-583-_-Product
Although it is not an IPS monitor or have g sync, it does have 1ms response time while have better colors than a tn panel.

Knightmaster731While I would seriously prefer a VA panel over TN, the fact that the monitor you linked doesn't have gsync is the only reason why it's cheaper. Gsync is expensive to incorporate.

HA! Trying to sell a TN panel at IPS prices? Nice try, HP. You can get the exact same Dell version of this for around $500 most of the time. Less if you buy refurbished. Stay away from this hot pile of garbage.

you edited your original post. but you did mention a "CRAPPY TN PANEL".
mainstream TN panels do suck, but this AU optronics panel used on these gsync displays are actually pretty damn good.
i owned a pg278q from day 1. and i also have an acer predator ips gsync as well.
the TN panel actually feels much better when gaming. And gaming is the main point of GSYNC, so image quality does not matter 1 bit when gaming. And if it did, i never noticed.
Now photo editing, or any other content creation, yes ips is vastly superior in color accuracy, brightness, contrast and viewing angles.
but again, gsync monitors are marketed towards gamers, not content creators. so color accuracy does not matter 1 bit. viewing angles? who tha fuck games while looking at his/her monitor at an angle? again, does not matter 1 bit.
but if your argument was that this TN panel is vastly overpriced considering the fact that it is priced too close to them, yes we can both agree on that. The dell gsync is a much better option for the same panel.

NYalexI think you owe me an apology, bud. The comment directly above mine states "crappy TN pannel", I never said that. My edit was for the price on the Dell, I originally put "about $400", but that is what you can get it for on sale, not normally.

No vesa mount, and TN panel. HP drops the ball yet again. Strong pass for me.

Can we stop bragging about monitor color accuracy when the monitor can only do 72% is sRBG???? That's trash! I get it's a tn panel and that's just kinda how it is, but don't try to make the color accuracy a selling point, when it's in fact a con of the panel itself.

Unless you're able to jump on those deals right away, you could potentially be waiting weeks for them to ship. Had that happen with a Dell monitor I got for my dad. It was insanely cheap but took the better part of 6 weeks for it to actually ship.

Kind of pricey for a TN G-Sync monitor. The Dell S2716DG also uses a TN panel, has two more USB ports, two 3.5mm audio output jacks, and can often be had brand new for $500 and often less than even that. Its maximum refresh rate is "only" 144 Hz, but I don't think that would be a major sticking point for most folks.
Also, Newegg's eBay store is selling the Asus ROG PG279Q, which is an IPS 144/165 Hz display for $639.99 with free 30-day returns. And those are brand new, not refurbs.

saturnotakuThat dell has been at $450 a bunch of times, refurbs as low as $330.
At over $600 this HP needed to be an IPS panel.

whomad1215The Dell has been as low as 370-380$ with their last deal a while ago, directly on their website.
Seems like a bad deal for a monitor without a vesa mount
