At the time I bought it, it was the cheapest Ultrawide 1440P Monitor with G-Sync. It's got good color accuracy for what it is as well as pretty low response rates. I didn't have any panel issues like dead pixels or anything along those lines. The OSD is a little irritating to use but overall, once you set it up the way you like you're not going to mess around too much anyway. G-Sync works as advertised, and it works well. G-Sync currently only works on Windows as far as I know, which is where I do my gaming. I haven't had any trouble running high refresh rates through the DP input from my Linux machine (Deepin 15.7) so I don't think it should be a problem for anyone else either. My only annoyance is the fact that the HDMI port isn't HDMI 2.0 which would allow for higher refresh rates but it's not such a big deal. The Monitor is built like a tank with a very sturdy stand, maybe a little too heavy but I don't really care. I like that the stand is very sturdy and yet has a small footprint, it has a flat base which allows more useable space on the desk if you aren't mounting the display. I also like that if you have the monitor backed up against the wall where you can't see the back it has a subtle design that doesn't scream 'GAMERRRR'. I like that you can turn off the subtle LED too, I mean I get why people enjoy RGB, just not my thing though. Overall pretty good monitor, there are newer ones that perform better now, so unless the deal you find is significantly cheaper, I'd say go with a newer panel with higher refresh rates, but if you're moving up from 60Hz, 100Hz is going to blow your mind anyway. Cheers!

It looks good and does what it's supposed to. The panel is maybe the 2nd best ultrawide panel in the market trailing just behind the X34 depending on how much you like IPS over AMVA+. Personally, I can't tell the difference without having to actually search for it. I presume the color banding video that's been making the rounds is the fault of the source material. http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/gradient.php This website shows the gradient perfectly and I can't tell the difference in my 60gb uncompressed movies either. It is also possible that I got lucky with my monitor but I don't believe HP would allow a monitor that looks like that video to be released.

This monitor would be great if it weren't for the huge issues it has when producing dark colors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lazS46Ly0ic
HP customer support has also been a nightmare, refusing to give me a full refund, despite being able to reproduce the issue on their own end, and the defective replacement unit they sent me being in my possession for less than 2 weeks.
Fix the issue with near-blacks and its a perfect monitor. Until then I highly regret purchasing this monitor, and find myself cringing every time I watch a dark scene on it.
