I tried these without knowing about the whoopie sling and ended up tying all kinds of gross hitches to connect the hammock with carabiner. Just watched the video and laughed at how easy it was. Great straps!

FYI, Hummingbird Hammocks sell their button links here https://hummingbirdhammocks.com/parts-and-accessories/ for those interested. I'm pretty sure they do not come with the tree straps in this drop.

Do the straps also come with soft shackles/soft link? They're pictured in the promotional materials when the hammock is set up but not in the images that just display the straps.

qwicksilverThe button end-loop is usually on the ends of the hammock. The loops on the whoopie sling attaches to the button end-loop on the hammock. I use these straps for all my hammocks.. My 1st set came with the soft shackles but with the button end-loops, those aren't needed anymore. I ordered the button end-loops and replaced the old strings on my hammock. I like this new setup.
I found a YouTube video that show how it works. I'm not a sponsor and it looks like a good product. Here is the video link. It may answer most of your questions.

Forgive my ignorance, but are these tensioning straps so that you can hitch the hammock? I.E. is their a cam or pulley ar ratchet or something making this system work?

Is there cross-compatibility with this product for other hammock systems like the ENO line?

sixsceptresYes, you just need a carabiner or other device to connect it to the loop at each end of the hammock.

For those that have these straps, how are you using them? ie. in what way are you attaching them to your hammock assuming you are not using a Hummingbird hammock?

I'm thinking most probably use a continuous loop on the hammock end and maybe a Whoopie hook but I'd hate to have to re-splice the Whoopie to get the hook on.

AntneeAgreed. I have considered making soft shackles to use instead of a continuous loop that way I wouldn't have to buy the hooks, but I'm not sure if a soft shackle can be made that can withstand the load.

I own a pair of these, and the only issue I have so far is that the nylon webbing stretches a bit more than I like. Of course, after messing around with them a few times, I have learned how to set them up so my hammock sits right where I want it. They are SO light and super adjustable; they also are super easy to carry around because they take up so little space. I just wish I had been patient enough to get them from here. Also, the stitching on the webbing worries me a little bit, but nothing has broken yet (Not really a complaint probably me just being paranoid).
