It seems this is a good deal if you want the trek kit with 3L bottle. That alone is usually 60 dollars but here you can get that and a 2L for same price ... like getting a free 2L bottle by buying a Trek Kit. Is that right?
visualgrafixWhen joining drop, adding a 2L seems to not alter the price... I think you're correct!

Multiple questions: Does the threading match a Sawyer Squeeze? What do they weigh collapsed? How easy, or not, are they to fill in non-moving water (ie, a lake) ?

prendrefeuNevermind. Quick internet search: not compatible with Sawyer.

prendrefeuNo, but it is thread compatible with the Katadyn BeFree that is a popular competitor to the Sawyer Squeeze. I carry this for extra water and as a backup in case the soft flask on my filter ruptures.

Grant3You can use Katadyne BeFree filter $25. I just got one and Seeker 2L for 3.5 oz total. Flows great just from gravity faster than Sawyer squeezing the bag. I found Sawyer squeeze to be a pia so setup as gravity filter with a Camelbak bladder but it's 8oz. BeFree+Seeker 2L is just as fast and functional for half the weight.

I have a number of these and will be picking up more. They are extremely handy. For motorcycle or car camping trips I freeze them at about 3/4 full and add water to fill. That way I have cold, fresh water all the time. The Trek kit has a top that accepts the typical drinking tube quick-connect. I use it for cold water while riding. The trek kit is the only place you can get it.

So far, not an issue. May 6-8 freezing cycles on them. Freezing is specifically listed as an "ability" in the description. The really do work great as ice in a cooler. I am careful about trying to freeze them flat. I wish I could freeze them vertically, ut I haven't figured that out yet

I have 3 of these in 2L that I use with the Katadyn BeFree filter. It's a great system. This is the newer version with the heavier duty fabric which feels very durable.
