Got mine today yesterday and unlike others I have no complaints with it. It's finished well on all sides and mine all seem even (I got 4 - 14" Padauk, 14" purpleheart, 12" cherry, and 12" zebrawood). The padauk is a bit rough on the back side in one spot, but it appears to be a normal knot in the wood. All in all these are great - finished nicely but not covering up the wood. The sides I'd guess are harder to make perfectly smooth since they're the ends of the grain.
The zebrawood and purpleheart are both stunning. The former is even better than the pictures show it.
Despite the delays I'll probably pick up a few more of these the next time it drops in different woods and sizes. Compared to wood keyboard cases, these are downright affordable.
