I can see how some would look at this as a 49 dollar v-neck t-shirt. But when looking at other shirts made of similar materials this is looking like a value. My question is, who is using this as a base layer?... Curious on long trek performance and durability.....
BT8484I wore an icebreakers t-shirt 17 days in a row on the JMT in 2017, and that shirt is still in nearly perfect shape. I have quite a few icebreakers tshirts - as long as you hang dry them, they have so far been very durable (they will shrink like crazy if you tumble dry them - like any wool product).
My broader experience with icebreakers is: the products made from nylon-core wool thread (like all their T-shirt’s) last very well - their 100% wool products have a tendency to develop holes early on (happened on the second wash for one set of thermals, and have subsequently heard a lot of similar feedback). Best to know in advance! I suspect this shirt would stand up well, and that’s a very good price for an icebreaker shirt.
