The details say that the ID75 supports RGB LED underglow installation. I am attempting to figure out if this means that I can install RGB LEDs under the keys or if RGB LEDs are only supported under the board for the acrylic lighting. I will be installing 3mm leds and will probably try to use some of the KPrepublic led hot swap inserts. That being said, it isn’t clear to me if there are RGB leds available that I could control Via QMK firmware or if I can only install single color LEDs. Anyone have a definitive answer on what kind of LEDs this board will support?

AjarjayMy ID75 is in the office, so I'm going by memory. The LEDs are RGB, and they are on the bottom side of the PCB. They are meant to be shown through the acrylic layer, but I have some clear casing switches, and the LEDs do shine through the case. I don't have key caps installed that are meant for any shine through. The LEDs are controllable via QMK. There are many ways to interact with them. I think I put a couple keys for turning them on and off, and another to cycle through the different patterns supported by the default QMK config. AjarjayHere's a photo of my ID75, with a shot of the underlighting, set to "rainbow" or "spiral". I'm not sure what setting it is. As you can see, it shines through the acrylic layer, but there's a bit of glow through the key switch housing, if it's clear.

nomadedThank you for sharing. For anyone else looking later, I tried some of the LED inserts to add backlighting under the keys without soldering. Long story short, they were too small, didn't fit snuggly in the holes, and were too long so they would touch the acrylic underneath. I'm just using the built in underglow with no key lighting now.
