My new everyday keyboard!
This keyboard really stood out to me - with its acrylic and clean design packaged with Drop Holy Pandas, this keyboard delivers a top-notch experience regarding feel and sounds. It’s got a gasket mount setup that makes typing feel comfy and responsive (like most premium keyboards these days), especially perfect for long work sessions or gaming bingers. Plus, the keystrokes sound just right with its included Holy Panda switches – something that I've been wanting to try but never bit the bullet until now. I initially thought that I might be too dirty for it, especially since it's a transparent design, but I found myself having to clean this keyboard less than my others and it never shows any sign of crumbs or dust falling in. I must be cleaner than I thought or acrylic is just THAT good at staying pretty for a long time. After having it for the last few months, I’m happy to report it’s still going strong. The quality is solid, and it looks and feels as good as when I first got it. Customizing it to fit my vibe was easy, with plenty of options for key mappings and lighting. If you’re looking for a keyboard that nails both looks and performance and lasts a long time, this one’s a winner in my book.

Amazing Value & Quality
For $230, this is probably one of the best values available if you don't care about the lack of front-facing RGB. Im really impressed with this build!

My Favorite Keyboard
I'm not going to write a super long review, I'm simply going to get to the point. This is easily the best keyboard I've ever owned and I'm not sure how a keyboard could be better than this one. I swapped out my switches for some JWK Ice Whites but honestly, I think I prefer the ones that came with the board. One of my favorite things about this keyboard is the weight. The overall feel of the keyboard is very, very nice, after using this thing for just short of a year, I have never once regretted buying it and would 100% recommend it to my friends, my parents, my grandparents, and any random person on the street. Should you buy this keyboard? YES, and while you're at it splash your cash, get both plates.

Cosfusing product
Before buying: I asked Drop beforehand whether the product will be assembled- they told me it will come as a kit- but it came assembled. There is no manual that tells you the size of the keycaps before buying, nor a manual at all. The only information is a mediocre video showing a guy unpackaging and assembling the kit version of this product. After buying: The product came pre- assembled, with horrible stabilizers. Rattly, with such a miniscule amount of lube (1cm on the wire, very thin coat) that I may as well say they were unlubed. It feels like it was assembled with the thought of the customer then dissasembling it, the plate, foam and pcb were held only by 3 screws, less than half the possible screws. Both of the previous statements beg the question- why assemble it at the first place? Another note- all gaskets came installed. If you'd like for a less stiff typing experience, it would probably be worthwhile to experiment with removing some of the them. Now to the keyboard itself. After modding it myself, (switching the stabs, adding screws, lubing and filming the switches, switching keycaps), the keyboard sounds fantastic. Modding it is easy, I dont mind screws at all (8 to open the keyboard, 3 to release the pcb sandwich), and the best part is that there's no need in messing with any daughter board. You just take the pcb+foam+plate sandwitch and insert the part with the usbc connector into its port, very simple. Note about the switches- apparently Holy panda X's come with lube ONLY on the stem legs, which is interesting. And... the looks. boy, does this keyboard look nice. The white LEDs get really bright, the clear case is stunning, and seeing the brass plate under the case looks amazing. Flipping it and seeing the PCB with the weight also surprised me with how good it all looks. There's RGB at the bottom if that's your thing. Verdict- Quality product, with great potential if modded, and amazing looks. However, frustrating aspects that you'd not expect to deal with, given the price point.

Your New Favorite Mechanical Keyboard
For reference, the configuration in this review is for the "Brass Plate" option. Having owned ~20 custom mechanical keyboards before purchasing this, ranging from budget $40 options all the way up to ~$700 builds, this has quickly become my absolute favorite keyboard in my entire collection. BUILD QUALITY
  • - Absolutely superb, on par with boutique ~$700+ options on the market.
  • - I opted for the Brass plate, so the weight is quite hefty which adds to the quality feel.
  • - Six months of heavy use and no visible wear/issues across the board, save for some minimal light surface scratches on the underside of the keyboard acrylic (likely due to my own user error as I frequently swap keyboards in/out of storage daily).

SWITCHES / STABILIZERS / TYPING FEEL
  • - The switches are absolutely sublime tactile switches, by far my favorite tactile switch on the market. Very clear actuation point, consistent feel and pressure across all keys of different sizes, including the spacebar which is usually a weak point in terms of quality feel. Even unlubed as the keyboard is out of the box, I found myself loving the feel so much I just never bothered with lubing the switches as I usually do.
  • - This is a gasket-mount keyboard, so for those unfamiliar this gives a cushioned feel to keypresses as it does a better job of insulating the plate from the case. For those new to the hobby, give the following search term a Google to better understand the differences between keyboard mounting styles to make sure this feel is what you're after, as Wordpress user Varmilo does a great job quickly explaining the differences: "Varmilo What is a gasket in a keyboard"
  • - Personally I have had no issues with the shipped stabilizers, YMMV however as I do see reports from others regarding the spacebar specifically. Have not experienced this personally after six months of heavy use.

TYPING SOUND
  • Preface: this is subjective, as everyone's hearing and preferences are different.
  • Volume
  • - On the louder side for a non-clicky tactile keyboard, but not overbearing. I use it primarily for home use, but I did take it to my office on multiple occasions and colleagues confirmed it was not audible/distracting for them.
  • Sound Profile
  • - On the "clacky" side out of the box (which isn't automatically a bad thing, mind you). If I could describe the typing sound in one swoop, I would say keystrokes have a weighty, determined, and consistent clack.
  • - If you're after the popular "thock" sound, you will need to explore foam pads and other mods along with considering the polycarbonate plate as opposed to the Brass which I review here.

KEYCAPS
  • - Was actually incredibly surprised here. Originally purchased the keyboard along with clear keysterine keycaps because I thought it would fit better aesthetically, but I instantly fell in love with the Artifact Bloom keycaps that it ships with out of the box. Very premium coating and has withstood extensive use over the last six months with 0 signs of any wear, fading, or staining.

VALUE
  • - At date of purchase (6/2023) and this review (12/2023), the price was/is $229 showing a discount from an original price of $385. At the discounted price, I have a hard time thinking of any other keyboard on the market that is such a good value/quality/feel package out-of-the-box. Honestly I don't feel there is one. If you were to build your own keyboard from scratch, you would likely be able to build a comparable product for a little cheaper but with a significant investment required in regard to your time and effort. This is an incredible option for those that don't want to mess with all of that and would rather buy something ready-to-go with minimal expertise or time required to tinker.

PROS
  • - Incredible build quality
  • - Sublime typing feel with outstanding consistency
  • - Great typing sound (subjective)
  • - My favorite tactile switch on the market, bar none
  • - QMK/VIA programmability works flawlessly
  • - Surprisingly premium-feeling keycaps
  • - Very upscale look, especially with other white peripherals
  • - Incredibly reliable: Six months later after heavy use, have not had a single issue/problem with the keyboard

CONS
  • - While heavy, if you use the keyboard on a desk pad / extended mouse pad then it is very prone to sliding due to how low-friction the acrylic of the case is. Very easy to solve, however, with $0.50 adhesive grips/feet you can find on Amazon.
  • - Per-key RGB is white ONLY. Only the case itself features RGB LEDs oriented on the bottom of the PCB only facing straight down (see picture for visual).
  • - While on the topic of RGB, the case does not do an outstanding job of diffusing the RGB lights. As you can see from my photo, you can see how localized the light from each LED on the underside of the case looks in action.

Other Notes for Potential Buyers
  • - This is a transparent case, so if you're new to that here's what it means: if you have pets, you WILL frequently be getting pet hair that irks its way under the keys and around the board. Personally, I have a fat, hairy corgi that loves spending time in the office with his dad so I find myself cleaning this keyboard VERY frequently, which includes removing keycaps and other components to get particularly annoying hairs out that find their way throughout the case.
  • - Not going to put this as a con for the keyboard since it comes with the territory with acrylic cases, but this case acrylic does seem to scratch fairly easily, so if you're rotating this frequently with other keyboards then take care when moving it, storing it, etc. Additionally, it's a fingerprint magnet.
Summing it up, I don't have any issue giving this keyboard a 5/5. It's been beautiful, pleasant, and reliable even as a daily beater keyboard for the last six months I've used it and it hasn't skipped a beat. Highly recommend to anyone in the market for a nice tactile, gasket-mount keyboard.

Best Looking and Sounding Keyboard
One of the best features of this board is the LEDs. The white LEDs under the keys are super bright and the RGBs underneath gives the board an awesome glow. My second favorite feature on this board is the Drop + Invyr Holy Panda switches. There switches offer the best tactile typing experience of any tactile switches. The tactility is sharp and extremely satisfying. Finally, to top it off the the Artifact Bloom Series Black on White keycaps look great on this board. The keycaps are solid and give off a satisfying thock, and the legends are crisp and clear.

Stabilizers are bad
Everything was great, but for a $350 keyboard, the stabilizers are god awful, they come pre lubed and everything, but they are just terrible no matter what mod you try (my stock GMMK’s stabs are better in every way) Gonna have to just put in seperate ones which is going to be a pain

New Favorite
Great build quality and looks amazing. Felt and sounded really nice stock but I replaced the switches with Gateron Silent Black Ink v2s and keycaps with SoulCat PBT keycaps which made it even better. Highly recommend especially at the current sale price.

Incredible Keyboard
This is my first non gaming mechanical keyboard and it has certainly blown me away. I was expecting it to be a kit that I needed to build, but it came pre-built(?) so I guess that saved me some time. For someone new in the hobby, everything feels and sounds sturdy. The keycaps are a perfect soft plastic and the switches/ stabilizers are quite good stock. I plan on lubing the stabilizers though. And the Holy Panda switches make typing a joy! Overall an excellent keyboard, both aesthetically, and functionally

Good first keyboard
As a first keyboard I had researched a lot into what I should get, this included hours of watching YouTube keyboard content creators. My heart was set on this beautiful acrylic board. Backlit RGB and hotswap capability. Overall the switches are decent as a tactile switch, however the space bar does have a sort of sticky feeling to it. Different that the rest of the keys. Because of this, I am definitely going to mod it with different key caps, switches, and maybe more. Other than that, I think it’s a great board but really pricey. Definitely not budget.
