Okay I have 2 comments. First, it is August 17th 2017, I received and email from massdrop to check out this drop on August 16th 2017, yet it shows currently inactive.. I don't know why I am getting advertisements for drops I can't buy. This isn't the first time I have done this, but its normally been more then 24 hours and I just assumed the drop closed before I read the email.
Secondly. I have bought a smaller kit in a previous drop. I work IT and do repair on all kinds of devices from Apple Computers and imacs, to Dell and HP desktops and laptops. I have even used it to take apart laptop hard drives that were broken to harvest the magnets. The kit is very sturdy and the bits are harder then the average microcenter cheap kit or the harbor freight bits that round out even when used only with the handle. I even put one in my drill and forgot to set the clutch setting and did manage to torque one crooked, and Customer support for iFixit replaced it, I think I had a replacement bit in less then 2 days. I also make use of the tear downs they have on their site for fixing something or determining if I want to fix something, and I love they still do written with still picture tear downs because its hard to play youtube videos backwards to see how to put it all back together.

ChaosDisOrganizedThe drop may have been limited to a certain number of units and they "sold out" before you were able to join the drop. I just got to the drop after seeing the email and had the same thought. Having a limited run is the only thing I can think of.
