I just bought one of these 2 hours ago charged it for the recommended hour and it doesn't work. When plugged into the charger the light on the side works but the coil doesn't heat up

Needs to get way hotter to really be effective. Gets pretty smelly after a few uses due to tobacco being crunched into the coils. No even lighting, must light half of the end of the cigarette and then light the other half. Wouldn't buy again.

That Zippo attempt looks CHEAP. I hate that plastic chrome. Why even try to mimick chrome with anything other than shiny actual metal?

Ive got one of these, they are pretty useless. Dont put out anywhere near enough heat radiation, you litterally have to jam the cigarette against them. It says to not run them for more than 10 seconds, but they dont put out even heat. And in sticking the cigarette against the coil ends up with crap from the cigarette stickig to them and then they end up with burnt crap on them. Also, they dont hold a charge well. Not a great EDC fire lighting device as when you go to use it, it will be flat.

DaveDeeThanks, was hoping to throw this in my trunk bag as an emergency fire starter, but I'll go buy a real lighter.

How hot can these go? As a fire performer having a usb rechargeable lighter to light my staff/poi/swords would be really handy.

LunaRoseNot hot enough, but the issue more for your purpose is, they dont radiate very far. You would need to touch the coil to the the kerosene, or whatever fuel you use. Too risky IMO, Id use a torch type lighter over this... in fact, Id use matches over these. May do at a pinch, but then they dont hold charge for long so even then, just doesnt deliver unfortunately.

DaveDeeThanks, my housemate has an arc lighter (not one of these) and having played with it definately not suitable for lighting fire props, will stick to my torch.
