Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. - The micro-USB port doesn't appear to fully seat the plug on the cable it ships with, but it works, so don't force it - The micro-USB port is flimsy, mine came partially loose the first time I plugged it in - Ships with a simple, rubber-coated cable - No height/angle adjustment built in, which I usually require, but the natural incline on this design feels fine enough - Frame rises a tad high around the keys - with a slimmer cherry profile set installed, the top edges of the arrow keys are flush with the frame when pressed
I'd recommend it as long as you don't mind the fragility of the micro-USB port.
