This razor is a poor quality model from IKON...can get a similar model from Weber Razor witha choice of handles and much better fit and finish for $75.00. It is well worth the extra 10 dollars and difference in quality is night and day

Mehereinteresting. I checked out Weber's site, and they seem to get really positive reviews, but either way, seems that Weber and iKon are quality. I like how this iKON has both open and closed comb options, so I can see the difference, and only need to get one razor. Have you used an iKon? any particular reason why it's bad? Just wondering. -edited for clarity

MehereWhile Weber is a great razor, I wouldn't call this iKon as being of poor quality. The handle on this iKon is of the same quality as any Weber's. The head is actually more versatile than Weber's and is less aggressive on both sides than Weber's. I have both and can compare.
Now, I know that some people on B&B are boycotting iKon for alleged customer care issues with its owner, but calling it "poor quality" because of it is just ridiculous and simply not true.

semkaYeah but people on B&B are animals hiding behind peudos and avatars... all they do is complain, harrass and bully, a standard forum hehe... PLUS, there is a majority of grumpy old people there, for whom, if it's not an old Gillette razor from the 50's or 150$ Mongoose or Cobra, it's total crap. Or that stupid Razorock Stealth Slant that you have to pay full price for beta version without warranty... This, at B&B, they like alot... go figure. They shave with triple milled soaps only, all rest is crap, and if you don't agree with them, they will bully you until you leave. This is what B&B is all about,
So, for that being said, I am just in Facebook Shaving Groups now, with real names and real faces... And all iKon 101 and 102 receive is praises. Nobody resells his and I see TONS of SOTD done with it. I own an iKon #102 and this razor is amazing, it's simply my best shaver of all the ones I own (Black beauty, fatboy, slim, merkur 38C, merkur progress long pole). It's also the only razor I can use Feather blades in without my face starts looking like a gore movie. I have tried Weber razor in a passaround, I find it's standard, nothing too shiny about it, but not bad.
So get it without any doubt, you can't go wrong with an iKon.

semkathanks for your insight semka! So having both iKon and Weber, which do you prefer? or do they both of their own strengths and weaknesses? I don't have a lot of facial hair (think Fu manchu) and probably don't need anything aggressive, so hearing that iKON is less aggressive sounds like it might work better for me.

PufferphishIt depends. When I am in a hurry, I prefer Weber, because I can finish faster with less effort; if I have 2-3 day or longer stubble (e.g. after a long weekend), I use iKon's OC side first and the closed side next.
Keep in mind that aggressiveness also depends on the blade you pick, so there is some inconsistency in any recommendation you would receive on the net.

dieushadeah ok, not sure what B&B is, but I'll take your word for it. Going to check out that facebook group too, and research about Feather blades. Thanks for your input, further cementing my purchase for this. :)
