To me main difference is that the Hue uses ZigBee(Kinda like wifi) and the ilumi Bluetooth. Imo bluetooth works better:
It knows when u are close to it --> it can turn on/off when u get in proximity. also you dont have to use that box which connects to ur modem.
But thats just my thoughts...

As far as I can tell, most of the features mentioned towards the end of their video are still "Coming Soon" (according to their website)... Philips Hue has an API while Ilumi does not, but they've mentioned that they have an SDK in development. Hue also works with ifttt.com.
Also, the MSRP on Ilumi bulbs is 50% more than Hue...
darcyThanks, Darcy! That's exactly correct - Bluetooth allows you to connect to ilumi using only your smartphone or tablet with BLE, which means no other complications required. And we're working on our SDK so we can integrate with services like IFTTT.
