i like the concept of them being beryllium, but tbh i dont think i would get something like this unless i have something to go by, right now thats not much, no measurements, or reviews by anyone that i can find or trust. if someone can post anything useful that they have found on the r2 red, it would be much appreciated.

Couldn't find any review on these, only the R2 Aten. I did consider getting R2 Aten a while back but thought a closed version of those would be ideal. Any idea how these compare to R2 Aten? Soundstage? FR graphs?

Check out the IMR Rah thread on head fi several owners of RAH also bought the Red and were blown away by it. I personally have the RAH and it is easily my favorit IEM in a collection that had many 2 - 3 X the price.

Hi Friend. Here the link to my review on the IMR R2 Red in spanish language (you can use the google translator tool enabled in the same web page): https://auricular.org/imr-r2-red-review/ Inside you will also find a comparison vs IMR R2 Aten. If you have any further questions after reading it, I can try to resolve.

The Red2 is a step up from the Zenith and is very similar to the open backed Aten. The Red2's are a Very very good IEM - quite similar to the £600 Rah's (which also include a Planer driver) although a bit warmer, with vocals more forward. smooth liquid, deep clean qualified mids. Huge soundstage. Lots of bass and treble filters to adjust your sound. Of the 170 or so IEM/headphones I have bought the Red 2 are easily in my Top 3. LOVE them

Never used a pair of mid or high end IEMs, how would something like this compare to the Argon Mk3? The Argon is my go to pair of cans.

Ive always struggled to find a good enough quality in a can for me. I think potentially you get a lot more bang for your buck with IEM's Ive had the T50's basic model. I can well imagine the Argon would be a really nice neutral-ish model...maybe with a nice tube amp? :) If you went for an IMR iem as your first high end IEM you would be extremely lucky TBH. Taken me years to arrive at this stage where I am now 100% happy with the IEM's I own...the IMR collection. Its hard to say how it would compare - There is so much to consider - quality of listening / ear shape / source - a good DAP / tips / cable. In ear is usually a little enclosed than a good can although there are exceptions..case in point.

There is nothing like "resolution" for a piezo-ceramic driver, such transducer is fully analog, resolution is about digital devices. Smelling as snake oil selling attempt...

You are referring to digital resolution as a quantitative measurement of resolution as it would be with digital e.g. 44.1khz 16 bit. The "resolution" in the description is a qualitative resolution, and simply refers to how the driver sounds like it has "more resolution", which is just a statement that is intended to cover a whole bunch of aspects of the drivers parameters all at once.

Limited to 300 units made but ships end of Feb? Seems like a more expensive version of LZ A6 mini.
