gcb0Magnepan is planar magnetic, electrostatic is something completely different (still a thin membrane diaphram, but electrostats use an electrical charge to move the diaphram and planar magnetics use magnets). Also, Magnepan doesn't have a patent on the concept of a planar magnetic driver.
