Maybe I missed it but can the two halves connect together in order to share modifier keys? Or do you have to do that in the OS somehow?

keathleyYes, if you connect the two halves together using the USB 3.0 cable you can share modifiers.
Windows and Linux actually allow you to share modifiers within the OS. Mac OSX does not.
Connecting the halves together also lets you share Pseudo-modifiers available in the KLL spec.
