Is there going to be a wireless version? Because wires get caught up with all kinds of things on my desk.
not for awhile. next year at the earliest.
I'd just like to say, FWIW, I think bluetooth is a waste of time for the ergodox. Too much extra complexity for hardly any gain, usually bluetooth keyboards are only able to pair to one device at a time, no NKRO over bluetooth (I think), backlighting won't work off battery, keeping the two sides in the right place would be almost impossible when on the move, plus you'll need a (wired) charger to connect to anyway.
At least bluetooth should be optional and removable if it is done!
Check out the "Kinessis Blue", "Logitech T630/T631", "Logitech K480", some Kanex keyboards, and some Japanese keyboard all have multi device Bluetooth that switches like a KVM switch.
Power limitation shouldn't be really a concern with the size of present day batteries and the ability for USB 3.0/3.1 to supply higher currents to a keyboard for charging and/or usage.
That's why I said "usually" they can only pair with one device at a time.
Thinking about it a bit more, you'd also need to have a way for the two ergodox sides to talk to each other wirelessley. Then you'd also have to charge the battery on both sides separately. Just seems like a lot of extra hassle and complexity for almost no gain.
