I'm a little late to looking at this... but I'm thinking the advantages / differences to this iteration of the ErgoDox are:
1) LCD display (programmable?)
2) Interface between two halves is done via USB 3
3) Supports LEDs on every switch (programmable?)
4) Supports Matias / Alps switches
5) Presoldered diodes, resistors, and controller
6) Not teensy based
7) Much cheaper (I think old ergodox did not include switches in $200 price?)
Do I have that right?

PacwageoThat seems about right. I would like some clarification on whether the LED's are programmable or not, whether they are supported now or will be supported with future firmware .

asdflordYes, everything is programmable.
Though initially it may require some knowledge of C programming. Once there is LCD and LED support in the KLL spec, work can start on adding that to the configurator UI.

HaaTaso... what level of programambility will there be? can we do reactive lighting, pattern lighting, different levels of lighting, etc?

asdflordWith a bit of C programming, yep. Eventually it will be possible to do reactive lighting just through KLL.
