Hey, question out of curiosity, you people were writing about LED's.
Is it possible to solder these with Matias switches aswell? They are build differently than the cherry ones, I think the circuit board has only one place for the LED's to be soldered, it appears that they would collide with the Matias-switches, right?
Matias switches have no holes for the LED pins to go through. They are transparent, however, so if the PCB has surface mounted LEDs, the light can shine through. I don't think it can be done with this board.
Well, could it be possible if i bend the little LED a little bit, will there be room?
I looked out for the previous ergodox and the soldering of the switches. Will the allignment be the same this version? the layout didn't change, right?
You know, I wonder if it is possible to solder the LEDs underneath, then bend it so that it shines through the mounting hole for Cherry MX switches, since the bottom of the Matias switches don't have mounting posts. I don't know if there is enough clearance. Do you have an original Ergodox to examine? I think they should be quite similar.
I'm not sure the original ergodox would help you, this is a different design, and the original didn't support LEDs or Matias switches (to the best of my knowledge.
However, I'm more than willing to try with mine when i get it.
