Checking back in with the latest info on this Infinity drop. Thanks to the efforts of our warehouse team this past weekend, this drop now stands at 50% fulfilled! Now that we have established a working packaging process, the only bottleneck for the remaining 50% is the PCB.
Our vendor should have 100-150 sets ready to ship out by tomorrow. That means, we should expect for the next round of fulfillment to take place around 10/22. The remaining PCBs however are delayed due to customs backlog resulting from the national holiday in China. We are still working closely with the manufacturer on getting a more concrete timeline.
Expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 10/19 or sooner if something comes up.
May we have a transaction date of whom can expect to be included in the next fulfillment?
So does this mean that there will be at least two additional batches?
First one with 100-150 sets, and then another one for the rest of us that were late in the drop.
With the inernational shipping times it seems like this will be a christmas gift instead of the late July birthday gift that I was hoping for when joining the drop.
So 1/3 of us has to wait another month+? Come on MD! Quit blowing sunshine up our skirts! you knew you were 400 boards short at least a couple weeks ago, why are you just telling us now, after giving us the impression there were no more issues?
Looks like I'm not getting mine until thanksgiving to Christmas... Grrrr... COME ON! Help Me Out!
Ps. and I don't want the "free" gift if I have to drop another $100 on parts, save yourself the money and keep mine!
I'd also like to know the cut off date for the upcoming 100-150 batch. Or better yet, an email to those buyers.
Email communication about this drop has been non-existent and I don't expect that to change.
They did warn us earlier in this thread that the second half of the PCBs were coming but might be impacted by the holidays until mid-late October. The 150 they got were just a spurt that made it out before the holidays and congrats to the lucky sods that get them, go buy a lottery ticket because it's your lucky day.
Yeah i do recall that, but how did 100 - 150 make it through customs and not the rest? A manufacturer in China would be shipping this altogether not in a whole bunch of separate pieces. And if it was separated, why so much longer if it was only a week long festival?
It just doesn't make sense to me. What is logical in my head is that they were not all finished being made and they shipped out the hundred to the hundred and fifty that were actually finished...
Hopefully I am wrong though...
Hi ArthurM and other MD Employees!
How long until next run on ErgoDox?
I've been told very soon. My guess is as soon as all the Ergodoxes ship out.
"Expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 10/19 or sooner if something comes up."
I hope we will get the update by the end of the day as quoted above, and that it's something positive for us that are not a part of the 100-150 sets, but of course also that those sets are shipped on 10/22 as planned.
@fredizzimo Yes personally I don't mind the delays, I just mind the lack of updates. Even if the status update has very little information, its also the promise of updates not met. An update can be as simple and honest as "We are still waiting for part X from a third party vendor, we expect progress by date Y." Or like at the end of a Friday it can go something like "We will be starting to do X on Monday, expect an update by Y."
