weehooherodI am not expecting to see the next batch hit people's door till after the new year with all the photos of these USB connectors snapping off.

Chad_IncIn an ideal world we'll be shipped the PCBs that are ready and have a reinforced version available for replacement down the line.

weehooherodTo be honest, I would prefer more delays for quality so I would prefer to wait

KoviRobiSince the PCBs have already been fabricated I'd like to have them right away. I'd be willing to pay the additional shipping costs for replacements in order to receive the potentially faulty ones asap.

weehooherodI am very interested to see if we will get an update at all today; and if Massdrop will address this issue for the people that have already received their kits, as well as how they are going to fix the issue for the customers who have not.
Chad_IncIn re: the usb receptacle; I updated over the weekend on the Input Club forum. For those with broken connectors please, before you do anything make a ticket with Massdrop so we can keep a running total of how many people have a problem. Massdrop will most likely replace the PCB for you.

weehooherodAssuming you solder in the switches (and probably the LEDs), swapping out the PCBs with the weak USB 3.0 connectors for a reinforced one is going to involve a lot of extra work. But I'd really like to hear what are Massdrop's plans regarding this. And I'd also like to know when I can expect to see my kit, as I'm probably among the last 10 person to sign up.

theimmcI won't be using LEDs. I've got plenty of wick for desoldering so I'm not concerned with it taking too long.
weehooherodIf you're going to desolder all the switches, I strongly encourage getting something like the Soldapullt. It's about the best $25 you can spend for those types of projects.
