View Full Discussion Just finished building my dox. Need to change some keys on the default layout (the one that came out of the box). Is there a tutorial on how to use the http://configurator.input.club/ ? It's a bit confusing. And do I need to remove the back plates to enter the Flash Mode? Is there a way to enter the mode without removing the back plates? If removing the back plates is required, do I need to push the buttons on both side or just one?
Yes, with the shipped firmware, you need to remove the backplate to enter Flash mode. If you flash the keyboard once with the default map available in the configurator, it includes a key mapped to entering flash mode. As long as you keep that function mapped to a key, you shouldn't need to remove the backplate any more.
However, a number of us have successfully drilled a hole in the backplate (http://input.club/forums/topic/reset-hole/page/2/#post-1508), although I think Massdrop discourages it (there is a risk of shattering or splintering the acrylic). I just used a 1/16" bit (just big enough to reset with a paperclip) and drilled very slowly. It is *very* convenient, being able to enter flash mode on either half via a paperclip, regardless of key mappings.
