This may be a silly question. I see that it comes with USB 3.0. Is the ergodox compatible with USB 2.0 like other electronics?
This doesn't actually use USB 3.0. It requires the extra pins that 3.0 supplies for the interconnect, but it doesn't actually use the USB spec when communicating between halves.
The connection to the computer is USB 2.0, and you can use a 2.0 USB A to micro B even though the kit does come with a 3.0 cable.
Thanks for the reply! I am also wondering if plugging in half of the keyboard, will it be recognized it as half a keyboard? So close to buying this.
Each side can act independently as a standalone keyboard. When you use the interconnect it works as a single keyboard.
