Anybody know of a good keycap set to go with white backlight leds?
I bought some ducky shine double shot caps, but you can also get some vortex ones if you prefer PBT over ABS. Of course that only takes care of the alphanumerical keys, arrow keys and a few other keys. I'm not certain what to do about getting the remaining 10x 1.5 sized keys, 4x 2 space thumb keys, and single sized ctrl/alt/win/menu keys. I'm yet to find anywhere that sells custom size and text backlit keycaps.
I bought clear keycaps because I I want backlighting, but I couldn't see whether any of the keycap sets supported backlighting. This will also let me play with layout a bit before I settle on something, without the continual annoyance of the key having the wrong glyph.
@HaaTa: RGB LED support would be nice. Maybe WS2812? I suppose that's more difficult since the smallest I've seen them is 5mm. I wonder if an optical coupler for an SMD LED would be an option.
I suppose I should have been more specific in saying that I wanted non-lettered keycaps that worked with backlighting without showing the support braces in them.
+1 @Annirak... If you figure out how to do rgb LEDs, please drop me a line!
Unfortunately I believe RGB LEDs would require not only a board redesign but different switches (or perhaps some sort of solution built into the keycaps?) .
