Does anyone have any links on all the things that the LED's can do on the ergodox? For example how to customize the LED's display to display the characters that I hit with the keyboards etc. Or how to program it to give me a welcome message?
It's up to the users and community to program stuff up to do special lighting effects right now. Haata is putting something together for his upcoming K-Type, so that might be usable on the infinity boards, but until then, you gotta roll your own in C.
I'm assuming we're talking scout the LCDs rather than the LED backlights.
If you want to display static images, that's not too hard and there's a utility in the firmware repo that will convert images into the format that the firmware can use.
Displaying dynamic information is more complicated. I read somewhere that someone was able to do this by writing a Python program on his computer to push information to the keyboard. Your best bet for getting something like that going is to hunt down what he did and modify it to your requirements. I would start by searching through the input.club forums for a link to the project. If you don't find it there, I'd search Geekhack.
Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately I don't know how to program.
Yes. I'm talking about the LCD's. Than you for replying.
