New drop, awesome! Can I buy just the right half? I don't trust that mine from the first drop will survive for much more. It doesn't work when hooked up using the USB 3 cable to the left half; it only works when hooked up directly to the PC.

Could take the second left half and turn it into a macro pad for photo/video editing or gaming.

you pretty much assemble it yourself anyway, right? why not just find what's broken and replace it?

While that is an excellent idea, I don't feel like buying a whole unit just because of bad quality on the first drop. You can check all the comments from that drop that people were having issues with the USB 3.0 connectors. Mine never worked perfectly, but it was usable. It just started going south about a month ago and I don't disconnect it at all.

@RojoNinja when did they start doing USB-C on the Infinity ErgoDox? I know the K-Type will be USB-C, but I hadn't seen where they were putting it on the Infinity ED yet.

Says Type C under the specs so I am assuming this run?

It's the USB 3.0 micro connector on the PCB. Those are really tiny solder points and I don't want to risk ruining the PCB. I don't mind desoldering the switches to reuse them, but the USB 3 micro connector is another story. Note that I'm not even asking to have it replaced for free as customer support due to a bad design. I am willing to pay for it.
This is for the previous Infinity ErgoDox. This new version is using USB-C so it's hopefully better designed.

Contact MD support. They will send you a new PCB for the bad half.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just opened a ticket. I hope they don't think I'm a pain since I already have another ticket open because the USPS lost another item that I bought :/
