I'm new to mechanical keyboard, did this keyboard really retail for 500 USD? That's a lot of money for a keyboard (or two).
It's a low-volume keyboard kit that you have to solder yourself, it has never seen a store shelf. If you were to buy the parts yourself - some of which are custom parts with long lead times - you would be paying around $300-400 to get them, and then spending $50-100 of your time (depending on how good you are with a soldering iron and how much you value your time) assembling it.
