Am thinking of "upgrade" the keyboard to RGB after they arrive. Does anyone want to join the development for that? Planning to use 3838 ws3812b SMT RGB LEDs.

Don't think you can? as far as I'm aware, RGB leds have too many legs to use in this pcb. Correct me if I'm wrong, though :)

Yes, the PCB only provide PWM controlled power. There's no trace for RGB color control. The 3535 form factor is so that the diagno fo the "square" is roughly 49mm, which should fit snug within the LED hole of the MX design. The passthrough hole in the switch should be good for two thin wires through. As long as all LEDs can be serial connected as a daisy chain for RGB control, it seems possible to use 1 pin on Tweensy 2 to send command. I've asked the LED seller for datasheet, but if they copied from SI, then this should be the scheme. Also, with some brief review of the Tweensy 2 pin occupation, it seems have 4 to 6 pins not being used.
There will be a lot of work to do, obviously. I would still think this is possible. Maybe this can push IC to implement RGB traces on the PCB if technically possible.
