So am I. Myself I am also worried already about those few of us who might happen to have a DOA situation. Even best manufacturers cannot achieve a 0% on defects. Now imagine having paid since April, and finally receive a defective PCB, and then having to await for Massdrop to receive a replacement PCB. Merry Christmas.
Massdrop is a great place for training your patience skills. It has helped me become a better person (for real, I am not trolling). Before massdrop, I could not afford having to wait 2 calendar days for receiving what I ordered (not to mention those bloody weekends).
I think in this case, at least for me, it is giving me some insight on what the time-to-market is like for electronics, or at least electronics for a subset of a subset of a subset of the average user.
Massdrop typically over-orders so that they have replacement units for the inevitable problems that need replacements. I had to request a replacement PCB on the first drop, and I waited about a week rather than months.
