I was just looking at the build guide for this keyboard and it says that there are optional LEDs you can install. I do not remember the product description saying anything about this keyboard being back lit. Is this version of the ergodox back lit?
There are definitely holes for the LEDs in the PCB ... you have to buy the correct LEDs and insert them after your switches. This of course assumes that your switches are designed for the LEDs ... Mine are Cherry MX Browns and include holes for the LEDs' leads to pass through the switch body.
I ordered some 2x3x4mm (square) LEDs on Aliexpress. Works perfectly.
Only added them to a few keys, it's quite a bit of work to solder them on to every key and I'm not really sure about the colour yet.
BTW to get backlit keys you need (partially) translucent keycaps. I'm using Jukebox SA and those keys are completely opaque. You do see the LED light between the keys and through the acrylic layers though.
@BartVB I'm also using the Jukebox key caps and didn't install LEDs because I was going to ask the same question first.
