Hopefully there will one day be an option to buy a flat plate separately. I really can't she'll out $114 for both the pcb and plate when the plate is the only thing I am going to use. If they make a significant revision of the pub, then it would be worth the $.

wes1099Just get one built: http://builder.swillkb.com/ http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/layouts/a9cea133f37d9c76602dffb7257f49ef
It would take 1-2 hours to get everything right, check out the swillkb discussions on geekhack You would receive a custom built-plate in <10 days
Wait 4-5 days until the tool I linked gets improved, currently the stabiliser calculations might be wrong, the discussion on geekhack is very active
Edit: The Massdrop support is still silent about the address issues, they need to address these issues before re-triggering the drop

wes1099I've got an idea. If you've got the bent metal case, you can send it to me and I'll gladly send you the plate and plastic case.

wes1099They actually have the plate files on github if you did choose to get one laser cut or whatever. https://github.com/kiibohd/case/tree/master/infinity-keyboard

jgilesHey if you haven't already done the trade with wes, I'd be up for a trade

IEATPOLESWes hasn't actually replied to me as of yet. @wes1099 you still have dibs on this deal if you want it.
@whomever I do this deal with. Let's be clear on a few things:
1. I have no reason to trust you, and you have no reason to trust me. I'm in this because there is no other way I can see to get the case I want. Ultimately, that risk may lead to me having a useless collection of keys and circuitry. Additionally, the failure may be out of either of our control (e.g. lost in the mail), and, regardless, it's not Massdrop's responsibility to make that right. All that to say, I reserve the right to cry into my pillow and call people names even though it was just as much my fault for suggesting and then accepting this trade.
2. I'm not sending my personal information over this discussion board. We will have to find a more private medium to discuss the trade further.
3. I'm in this current drop. That means you will probably have to wait an additional month, at least, to get the case.
4. The technical stuff: I need to know which color of plastic case you want and the layout of your keyboard, so that the trade will be satisfactory to both of us (assuming that #1 doesn't bite either of us in the butt).
I think that is all I wanted to say. If there is anything else I'll post it. I'm, now, anxiously awaiting replies.

IEATPOLESNo preferences, but since we have 13 days left on the drop I'll go ahead and give two of those to @wes1099 to allow him to confirm his interest or lack thereof before we solidify our deal. I'll check back at 20:00 on Monday, and if no response from wes, then we can work out our contact method and go from there.

jgilesAlright, just so you know my kit hasn't arrived yet either(part of the last drop of course), I'm the 211th participant. Regardless, I'm sure yours will take longer. I'll put my steam name down if @wes1099 has denied.

IEATPOLESAlright, time's up with an hour and a half to spare. If you're still in, you should be able to find me as jgile468 on steam. Just warn me on here as to what your steam name is before contacting me on there.

KaanI actually got a custom plate laser cut out of acrylic, and it seems to work perfectly, except the switches require a 1.5mm thick plate, and 1.5 mm acrylic is not very strong. I could get it machined out of metal, but everywhere I have looked wants 90+ dollars for it.
EDIT: The 1.5mm plate just broke when I tried to put a stabilizer in it....

wes1099That's a pity, I 3d-printed plates at 1.52mm and they were pretty strong, I guess I'm going to try 1.58mm next - just get a 5mm acrylic, you only need to surface drill the part where the pins are soldered, other than that, the surface of the infinity pcb is flat
I have 4 flat plates that I'm not going to use, 5 if I count the one I'm using right now, I wish there was a practical way to give one to you, but there isn't one, 90+ dollar is for one plate, from the infinity discussion at the keyboards section of the geekhack, you can find 5-6 interested parties and run a mini-group buy to reduce that cost to 20-30$'s - this is speculation, but it should be possible - make sure to use square cutouts so it's actually worth it - these hybrid cutouts are the worst :)
