I'd love to have a nice clicky alps keyboard and I also enjoy DIY, but the case looks like a nightmare. Is there no grip at all? Maybe someone who owns it can share? Is there any way to mod it (the indentations pointing in look like they'd be able to hold something in there)?

MacroPowerHaving played with one of these for only a few minutes, I can’t give you a full answer, but it seems to work pretty well on a table, in practice. It’s heavy enough and quite solid. If you wanted you could surely add some additional feet or support.

MacroPowerI think for grip you can get some car door edge guards. Not sure how well they would work though.
