Looks like a great deal, unfortunately it mimics another watch I own. Pity.

Sigh. The 801 is great, just 6mm too big.

I just got the Trenton model on a drop a few weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it presents with the spherical case, as it pays homage to the old WWI “pocket watch with soldered lugs” motif. However this one with straight sides and even larger dimensions is a pass. Also my observed power reserve on the watch once fully wound seems to be under 30 hours.

Nothing says “I have a big knob” like this watch. ...and I beat @RayF to the comments. This is going to be a good day.

Well--I'm certainly not one to brag about my knob! But I will say, all mine screw-down...

You are correct...they have great customer service too. I needed a couple links for one and they shipped them free of charge and no charge for the links either!

Actually having finally gotten around to reading the article @grafikal has pointed us to, it does seem like it's Sea Gull who's making them, and in China. True or not, I'm with you on the non-hacking movement issue--I'll put up with it on some of my older faves from Seiko, but no more for new purchases. And frankly, let's be honest, anyone buying a watch this cheap, and this ugly, has to have mighty big balls to start complaining one way or the other about what's under the hood. With this brand and at this price, it's better not to know--and I know, because I've got one ;- )
