Where is this manufactured? What type of movement is it?

riseuplightIngersoll watches are now made in China, with Chinese movements. This is not necessarily a bad thing, just something to be aware of. Chinese movements have improved greatly over the past few years, and this particular watch would seem to be a fair price at $114. The "list price" is something no one should pay.

riseuplightAs far as manufacture is concerned, the Wikipedia entry on Ingersoll states: "The Ingersoll brand is currently owned by Zeon Watches (http://www.zeonltd.co.uk/), a British subsidiary of the Chinese company Herald Group." So likely China.

riseuplight@dotcat007 movement looks like a standard non hacking 8 series myota, so technically a Japanese movement likely assembled somewhere in south east Asia.

unixvovaThis watch uses a 82S0 Miyota movement. It does not use a Sea-Gull movement.

riseuplightSee, if you had a computer, you could find out all the stuff these other guys are tell'n you, on your own, plus you'd know if they're right, or just making it all up!

RayFAbsolutely correct - although not everything posted on the internet is true (really?? lol). It constantly amazes me the questions asked about items sold on the internet, especially on the Amazonian website - people are too lazy to READ the descriptions which usually do contain the answer to their question - or to lazy to search it out themselves. Sad, really.

RayFWhat’s the point of this comment section then? Isn’t it to ask questions?

riseuplightthe point of this comment section isn’t to ask questions - that’s heretic talk and calls for a paddlin’. The point of the comments section is to insult people you’ve never met, over watches you won’t buy, while making snarky comments and derailing the thread into something completely different. Look at the blue lume on my watch!

RayF@RayF to be fair, I didn’t even have to look up that it was a myota 8 series. I hate non hacking movements so much that their obsolete movement architecture is ingrained in my brain.

riseuplight Don't listen to that meathead @Watchyoutalkingabout, of course you can ask questions--but only rhetorical questions like: "OMG--who picked this ugly watch for a drop?!" or, "For christ's sake, why can't MD ever list the correct specs?! and, "42mm? What the hell were they thinking?!!" or from time to time: "Who the fuck does RayF think he is?" You can also make annoying declarative statements like: "If this 45mm diver was a 38mm open heart, moon phase, I'd be all over it." or "I only collect automatics." and the especially annoying "You can get this same watch cheaper on the internet." or even: "Don't listen to RayF, he thinks he knows everything!" Occasionally you may come across information or opinions posted by another member that you take exception to. In that case you can always offer an opposing point of view by asserting: "What a fucking idiot!" or, "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard--and by the way, if my dog looked like you, I'd shave his ass and make him walk backwards!" But what you can never do is ask MD a legitimate question and expect them to answer it--unless the moon is in the Seventh House and Jupiter aligns with Mars. In that case, peace will guide the planets, and love will steer the stars--which would signify the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, in which instances, I've always found MD to be very helpful and most attentive. By the way, please remember to observe MD's new Dress Code requirements for posting comments or asking rhetorical questions. Your cooperation is appreciated--this will be your only warning.

dada331You are correct...they have great customer service too. I needed a couple links for one and they shipped them free of charge and no charge for the links either!

WatchyoutalkingaboutActually having finally gotten around to reading the article @grafikal has pointed us to, it does seem like it's Sea Gull who's making them, and in China. True or not, I'm with you on the non-hacking movement issue--I'll put up with it on some of my older faves from Seiko, but no more for new purchases. And frankly, let's be honest, anyone buying a watch this cheap, and this ugly, has to have mighty big balls to start complaining one way or the other about what's under the hood. With this brand and at this price, it's better not to know--and I know, because I've got one ;- )
