Is this watch reliable? I'm looking to purchase a cheap automatic dress watch and I don't know if I should go with this watch or the Orient Bambino Gen 2.. Since it looks like there are a lot of people here who are into watches, what would you do? This watch looks good. The MSRP is high, but didn't see many reviews. It looks like it has a high quality strap as well. While the bambino has great reviews, a cheaper band. Both cost pretty much the same.. What would you do?

amirosIf you want an inexpensive dress watch that is not “cheap” as in quality, go with a Bambino. Spend a little extra on a decent after market strap and you will have a great looking dress watch (that you can also wear casual) that should outlast you.

amirosThe two watches aren't really comparable. This is a novelty watch--bigger than most dress watches, white on white dial, lugs don't look like strap changes will be easy. If you already owned a Bambino, I'd say buy this one on a lark. Otherwise, the Bambino is your best, first choice.

RayFThis watch isnt that large. 44mm is big but not huge. I dont own a bambino and the light brown one looks pretty nice and similar. I think I'll purchase the bambino and maybe think about purchasing the darker one here. Do you think it's worth a purchase? The price is pretty nice. I would like a watch to be alive for 5-10 years. Will this do in your opinion?

Omegaman68Thank you. I think I'll get a bambino regardless to this purchase.

amiros44 isn't too big for a sport watch, but it's on the large size for a Men's Dress watch--the Bambino you're comparing it to is only 41mm. As mentioned, the two watches really don't have anything to do with one another. I've also noted something odd about the lugs and strap here--doesn't look conventional--might be nothing, but worst case scenario, standard strap changes would be next to impossible. My suggestion: get the Bambino, pass on this one. I'm guessing there will be further Ingersol drop in the future.
