Alright, someone give me the rundown. Is this a good watch or not?

ButthurtTumbleweedIt’s a mushroom brand. No way they go for the “list” price. Supposedly they’re using Seiko movements now, but Ingersoll has become just a name, to be honest. Originally it was American, then it became two companies - one American (with Timex), one British (with Smiths). The brand has changed hands a lot. At the moment, it is a British company owned by Zeon - but Zeon is a subsidiary of a Chinese company.

ButthurtTumbleweedIngersoll has been around a long time, initially American, with American and german design tones, from what I can tell around 40 years or so it dissolved. Whilst some offices remained in the U.S. (they state New York)the company moved to somewhere in China, probably Hong Kong there is a bit of info. from various internet sites; but as with a lot of these mewby Chinese watch companies the actual history is vague; suffice to same different forums do come up with different variations on the subject. As I own or have owned five of these watches I can say that the movements so far have been , mainly Miyota, autos from the 8215 variants and have been quite good. The one quartz is Ronda , a swiss made movement which is also good. I am not sure on this one, but even if it is Chinese at this price point I would not worry , the watch guys on this site do say that Seagull is a reasonable make. Just because some label it as a "mushroom brand" doesn't mean it's not any good. There are some of these "micro " or "mushroom" brands that are excellent , and sometimes quite expensive. Personally for a company that produces so many watches I would not consider it this type of brand. For $79 just try it,if you like it.
ButthurtTumbleweedSounds to me like it's just a watch for a reasonable price if you like it. I was looking for a watch anyways, so I just went ahead and bought a watch I really wanted from Amazon for around the same price instead (Seiko 5 SNK if you're curious). Thanks so much for the detailed replies. I don't know how if I even can reply to multiple posts directly, so I'm just replying to myself here.
