Yup. I usually wear a size 11. Ordered 11.5. Just right. These discussions work. Order a size up. You'll love them.

Having bought these from Massdrop, the sizing on these is completely inconsistent with other Inov-8s. They are effectively a half size smaller. Avoid these unless you've tried on this model.

12 2E in Inov-8 fits me really well, but I am a 12.5 in the Roclite 305. No guarantees but hopefully that's helpful!

I think so. Previous drops had the GTX variant available at an additional cost.

Wow...these are great. Got my 305's in today and I like them so much I already put in a request for another drop. First time I've ever done that. I usually were anywhere from a 10-10.5 depending on the brand (10 in Nike) and with these I got the 10.5's and they fit perfectly. These were made for my feet. My foot usually runs a little more on the narrow side.

How's the draining on this shoe with the Gore Tex upper? I don't want to have to carefully step across every shallow creek on a run so drainage is key.

Super helpful, even if that kills it. For a trail runner, seems like a design flaw IMO.

Yeah, I'm new to trail running and from a bushwalking stand point it seemed like a good idea but for running, better just to get wet and let your feet dry.
I use these mainly as a walking shoe now.
The shoe itself is great confort and traction wise, I feel it would be better without a liner.

GTXs just arrive. Glad I went with US12. Shoe is comfy out of the box. I did find the arch support a little lacking (I'm suffering from plantar fasciitis at the moment) so put my own insoles in. Also had some issues with the alignment of the eyelets for lace locking. If I can get the shoe on and off without unlacing it'll be fine. Once broken in, I'll probably be able to go without locking, but I do prefer to lock.
I'll break them in tonight and will for a short walk tomorrow to test them out. Rain, rain and more rain predicted so I'll put the GTX to the test.
BTW, love the colour. I own a VW Golf GTI with the same colour scheme.

If someone has extra US M 9 1/2 then I would like to buy. I tried looking outside and it’s for $130 which is out of my budget.

My GTX's came in the mail just a few days ago and I began wearing them immediately to break them in for a segment hike on the AT in two weeks. They're so comfortable on my feet and although they're brand new, it feels like they're already broken in. Everything about this shoe has impressed me from the heel and toe box to the mid-foot support and grip system on the sole. I plan on using these shoes primarily for hiking but would definitely recommend them to any outdoor enthusiast looking for a lightweight, quality and performance.

I have had two pairs of innov8's previous to buying these. I normally wear a size 11 and have been happy with 11.5 in both my previous innov8's
I'm not sure if my foot is getting wider or these are just narrower than normal innov8's but I'm seriously considering selling these as my toes just feel cramped and after just wearing around the house for a day, my feet are sore. I'll give them a try on a trail run this weekend after breaking them in some more and make my decision then.
I love the shoe overall, just wish i had gone with a size 12 (US) instead of the 11.5

I had the same problem - they're much smaller than other Inov-8s. If you're in New Zealand I have a spare pair of size 12s!

Just signed on for a pair of GTX in 12. I take 11.5-12 in Adidas Ultraboost and 12 in Nike, so from the comments it should be a good fit.
Really need a good pair of waterproof shoes. I do mild trail/beach hike every morning, only about 7kms. But the long wet grass soaks my current Hokas and Ultraboost ATRs. My gf told me to stop buying shoes, but 60USD, it's worth a punt.

I got the non-Goretex version in an earlier drop. I'd say that they run fairly true to size if a bit on the snug size. I usually wear an 11 (US) and one shoe is usually a little tight for my small toe. These are the same. I'd already started to see some wear on the outside where my toe would be after about 100 miles. Not unexpected as it happens with all my running shoes (10.5 is too small and 11.5 is too large, so I put up with it). Other wise the shoes are holding up well and seem well made. They are otherwise very comfortable and lightweight. They look good which is a bonus. I like more of a drop so I won't be using these as much for running but I think they are fine as hikers. I've had them in (very cold) water a couple of times and they drained well and dried in a reasonable amount of time.

I wear men's size 13 and have a medium width foot, should I order size 13? They don't offer 13.5 and I'm sure size 14 would be too large.

If you're still pondering the question - I'd say don't. I am size 45 and wear 46-46,5 in inov-8. (although the sizing may be different up there)

I'm a 9 in Adidas (27 cm), 9.5 in Nike (27.5 cm) and 9 in Columbia (27 cm). I ordered a 9.5 for the Inov-8 which are 27.5 cm according to their chart: https://www.inov-8.com/row/size-guide?___store=row I also found this useful calculator. See if it helps anyone: https://sizeseeker.com/mens-shoe-size-converter/ Hope I got it right.
Update: Since I was still not at rest, I went to a local shop and measured the shoe. After doing that I changed the order to 10 US-M.

I went to a local store and tried the shoes just to be sure. Good thing that I did. I'm a 43 EU which by Inov-8 is actually 10 M US (28 cm). So I changed the drop I ordered from 9.5 to 10.

Innov-8 has two configs, Stndard and Precision. These are listed as standard, with a wider toe box. Mine arrived a few weeks ago and I love them. Very comfortable and are great on the trail.
Here is a link to the size guide . Hope it helps. https://www.inov-8.com/row/size-guide

Great thanks so much. You've tried yours already? I heard they're not great on the smoother trails - more for off track terrain. Did u find that? Did you find u needed to order half size up and it was narrow?

A lot of people recommend going up a half, or even full size, for Inov8 shoes. But not everybody. FWIW, I wear a size 12.5 in everything - Inov8, Altra, Vibram FF, Hanwag, Adidas and so on. I do not feel like these are short, but it is probably that they are narrower than what people prefer or are used to, so they size up. A narrower toe box usually leads to more accurate footing on technical terrain and climbing.

I bought 305 a half size up on last drop and way too big. Bought 290 at my size and smaller than a 290 I tried on in store. Able to return both for full refund:) I'm going to try 305 at my size again.

Here are review comments from Outdoor Gear Lab (on the GTX version): " The inov-8 Roclite 305 GTX is an all-terrain warrior. This traditional trail running shoe is our Editors' Choice winner because of its exemplary performance in the areas of foot protection and traction. We loved its waterproof features that makes trudging through streams a breeze. The outsole features three different densities of rubber that sticks to pretty much any surface (including wet rocks!). We loved the responsive midsole that keeps feet comfortable and protected on the trail. In addition, we love its balance of protection and sensitivity that makes this shoe one of the best on the market. Though this trail trotter has many perks, it also has a few downsides. While it has great traction and protection, stability is average at best with less lateral stability than the La Sportiva Bushido - Women's and Saucony Peregrine 7 - Women's. As a result, we can't recommend this shoe as the best for technical terrain (like we would with the Salomon Speedcross 4 - Women's). It also only really fits a narrow foot best. It's a great option for any length or style of run though. Take it for your next 5K or 50 miler, over mountain passes or nicely groomed single track. Rain or shine. "
