When you buy a car do you expect and accept the steering wheel coming off in your hands because you can glue it back on?
give me a break
These sneakers are complete junk
LSNadonDidn’t mean to come down on you personally I just don’t understand how massdrop keeps allowing this rip off company to continue selling their product on the MASSDROP site.
yeah I know it’s all about the money
I bought the high tops - Yeah, these will fall apart on you. The only way they won't, is if you don't wear them. However, this is what I did a few days ago and it seems to be working well -- Where the welt was coming apart, I stuck in a little contact cement. The soles on mine were coming off too. I used the contact cement on the soles also - so far, all is good.
NOW - this is something that you should not have to do, but for me, it's been a few days, it's working, so I'm happy. Before you stick contact cement on everything and expect it to work, a word of advice - learn how contact cement works (basically, cover both pieces that will be stuck together, let the cement dry, then stick the two pieces together - you'll get a nice strong bond).
I like the look of these, but the quality comments tell me that it’s probably best to stick to a sneaker company when buying sneakers. I love miadidas (https://www.adidas.com/us/customize) to create customized versions of their “originals”. Superstars, Stan Smith’s, Campus, ...
I joined the kickstarter years ago for $160 and the shoes just haven't held up. Within a month the glue had started to come undone and would force the stitching at parts to barely hold the shoe together. I wouldn't recommend even at $60. There are better options for slightly more $
I owned the display photo pair in 2015. They lasted about six months before the sole gave out, actually worn ~90 days. Frye sneakers give me ~120 wears, Gustin's with Margom soles ~300. For context, I weigh 210lbs and walk 10K steps a day largely on sidewalks and indoors. I have a long stride, which is hard on the back edge of the heel; I distinctly remember the InSouls gave out in the heel, the sole wore down past the stitches.
I was unhappy about the durability at the time, but I also paid 160. For 60, I consider these InSouls to be a significantly better value than Frye, with similar construction quality. If you're in market for higher quality with similar cost per wear, go with Gustin.
