Whey so much hate? Lot of fashion quartz brands being sold here - much less credible imho. These divers are fine - I dont like rest of Invicta production but automatic divers seems ok - both Seiko and Sellita versions.

James1900Invicta is a brand that throws everything it can in marketing and gimmicks to prop up fundamentally soulless and ugly designs. They have poor QC and poor service. They overhype features that are common designs from cheap movements designed by others and have poor construction and poor resell value. How can you take a brand that does this any seriously :

Yes, there are exceptions to these rules, but when these exceptions are shown on mostly homage watches, you have to question where the soul of the company lies, if any.

VirguleYeah, I know these (or similar ones - lot of horrible designs Invicta has and they can get mixed into one ugly piece) and these are really shame... Maybe my position to Invicta is dated back to the time when they came with 8926 (original one with miyota movement) and it was solid model - accepted as nice entry to mechanic watches. I got one and was satisfied. Then they start to produce more and more of these ugly designs and I was really horried WTF brand is this??? I have purchased 9094 model (updated with NH35 seiko movement) about 6 months ago - just for fun or sentiment. Read mixed reviews but at such price....didnt care much. 6 months later I am surprised. Movement works nice (few seconds a day - on a par with my other ETA 2824-2 equiped swiss made watches) so I am fine with mine particular piece.

James1900James1900, I had a similar experience recently with Invicta. I was enticed by the price, Seiko movement, solid links/endlinks, etc. so I bought one and don't regret it. Am I a fan? Well...not quite but like TGV said, "If you're offended by Invicta, perhaps you're too easily offended." Cheers everyone and happy 4th of July! :)

James1900Sometimes, when you don't understand why all the knowledgeable and passionate people feel one way and you don't... it's because you simply don't know anything.
This is one of those times.
Invicta epitomizes the worst in "fashion watches", going back to their HSN days when they claimed MSRP of $699 for a quartz craptastic watch, comparing against Rolex. Now, it's certainly true that their quartz watch was more accurate than a mechanical Rolex, but that's broadly like comparing a microwaved Swanson TV dinner against a personally-cooked dinner from Wolfgang Puck, and only judging on speed.
So let's look at this current offering. It's $200. For a Selita SW-200, a fine but certainly not in-house, bespoke or high-end movement. With, and this is the kicker, a glass, not a sapphire, crystal. For just over half that money, you can get a Seiko with automatic and a better crystal... and no pretensions.
If it wasn't for their history and over-hyping, Invicta probably wouldn't invite the haters. Really it's a fashion brand, no worries, but if all you want is a fashion diver, get a Seagull movement or go straight quartz.

GoAztecsI'm not offended by stretch polyester either, but much like Invictas, classy people don't wear it in public.

VirguleThe watch on the upper right is not Invicta, it's a Tauchmeister. I think I spelled that right. But it is ugly.

mmek12Oh you're right. At this point, they're all turds. Might not be important to distinguish one maker from the other.

VirguleI find a number of AP, Hublot and Richard Mille watches ugly. Yet they're considered "haute horology". Different strokes for different folks.
