I just installed this in my car today. This is, by far, the BEST car mount I've used. I'm exceedingly pleased! I can't recommend this thing enough. And I should mention that my dashboard is textured hard plastic (2007 Focus), and this thing has no trouble sticking very firmly. I was previously using this floppy mount that clips onto the air vent. Now I can put my phone in a more optimal position in my line of sight. This thing is very sturdy and stable, so it's very easy to make quick adjustments since my phone doesn't budge. For these 2 reasons, this is a much safer option than my previous mount.
Edit: I noticed it was making a noisy rattling sound when I drove with it empty. "Aw," I thought, "at least it was a good deal." Then I felt around on the back and found the nut to tighten the bottom supporting fork which you can slide around to accommodate your phone's jacks. I tightened it, and now it's silent. So after spending a week with it, I have ZERO reservations about recommending this mount to everybody I know. I love this thing!
