Damaged after the first use. The wood layers are already splitting apart, after using these utensils in boiling water.

Will these be rough to the touch, or do they have some sort of coating making them polished and smooth? If there's one thing that can give me goosebumps it's gritty and rough things.

daniel.wangEh, if you've been washing them in the dishwasher for a while and haven't noticed any deterioration, I wouldn't be too concerned. I've found that hand washing wooden utensils isn't so bad if you do it straight away, same as you would do with good knives.
