Powerful Audio With an Impressive Profile
It’s always been difficult for IEMs to sound “big.” Bass response, soundstage, and isolation are all at odds with compact, in-ear designs. For ISN Audio and the new H40 IEM, this was a challenge accepted and conquered. Outfitted with three balanced armatures and one 9.2-millimeter dynamic driver per earbud, the H40 packs a punch to go along with its pristine detailing. As cqtek’s 4.5-star Head-Fi review puts it: “in the lower zone, it is difficult for these IEMs to have a rival.” But the H40 is more than just a bass-heavy pair of earphones. It also offers what cqtek calls “warm, very natural and analog” sound, with “clarity in the midrange” and a “tailored profile” overall. On the exterior, the H40 continues to impress. There, it features a semi-custom acrylic shell in dark purple with a glossy finish and MMCX connectors for easy cable replacement.
