A substantial fountain pen from Italix, the Captain’s Commission has a brass body that starts broad and tapers toward the bottom. Featuring textured chrome plating, the screw-on cap sits flush with the barrel for a streamlined silhouette that’s pleasantly smooth to the touch. The barrel has a lacquered finish and bears the Italix logo in script on the center band.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of barrel colors between Black and Burgundy. You'll also have your choice of nib size (see list in "Nib Sizes" section below).
From the chrome-plated trim to the domed black tassie on the cap, the Captain’s Commission shows tremendous attention to detail. The shapely clip has more spring than that of its cousin, the Parson’s Essential, for easy and secure stowage in a pocket. Remove the cap to reveal the engraved stainless steel nib, and post it to add a little heft to your writing session.
Note: If you search online, you may find conflicting descriptions about these nib types. Some of these are based on a misunderstanding, because the nib in such cases is being viewed from the back. We show the nib from the front. If you look at the back of the nib where the feed is, a left oblique will slant downwards from left to right, as is meant for right-handed people, while the right oblique will slant downwards from right to left, and is meant for left-handed people.
