Made in Asia and hand-finished in England, the Parson’s Essential fountain pen is highly resistant to scratching, thanks to the piano-lacquer finish applied to its barrel. It’s lined with brass for added weight and durability, and fitted with a screw-on cap that can be posted snugly without affecting the pen’s balance. The cap also features a sturdy pocket clip and a Celtic pattern on the cap band.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of pen color (amber, black, blue, burgundy, canary yellow, clerical purple, or green) and nib size (see "Nib Sizes" section below).
Plated in gold, the two-tone German-made nib is adjusted, reground, adapted, polished, and dry-tested by Italix in England. It offers a wet, skip-resistant writing experience, and it comes in a variety of options. In addition to fine, medium, and broad nibs, the company offers italic, cursive stub, oblique, and italic oblique nibs.
Note: If you search online, you may find conflicting descriptions about these nib types. Some of these are based on a misunderstanding, because the nib in such cases is being viewed from the back. We show the nib from the front. If you look at the back of the nib where the feed is, a left oblique will slant downwards from left to right, as is meant for right-handed people, while the right oblique will slant downwards from right to left, and is meant for left-handed people.
