The J.C Acoustics UDP-6P desktop DAC & headphone amp takes everything that makes its younger sibling the UDP-5 great—the pristine, sandblasted aluminum casing, the high-quality multi-color IPS reference display, and the impressive componentry—and adds upgraded DAC performance and output headroom. The XMOS XU216 chip is still here to deliver PCM resolution up to 768 kilohertz with DSD512 native support for supreme conversion and processing. But thanks to the upgraded ESS 9039SPRO chip, there’s even less total harmonic distortion, a better signal-to-noise ratio and a more pronounced channel separation. On the amplification front, you’ll find upgraded harmonic distortion performance and higher headroom on the output—allowing you to squeeze every last ounce of resolution and quality out of your lossless audio files.
