Another issue could just be the postal service. I've seen reports where USPS have had delays stemming from the winter holidays, especially ones from overseas. In other words, the vendor may not necessarily be at fault, and the situation may not be something Massdrop has any control. Just playing the Devil's Advocate.

ChronorWhat do you think of the latest update?
SmashingTacosHey everyone -- @HassanS and the Logistics team have been emailing and calling, as have I.
Unfortunately, the vendor closed for the long holiday weekend without providing an update on whether the manufacturer's office in France will be able to send these via airmail so that we don't have to wait for the container in late April.
We're doing everything we can to make this happen, and it's been very frustrating - we're sorry.
It's disappointing, and we understand if any members would prefer to cancel their orders. We do hope that we'll have a definite answer on air/sea cargo and ETA on Tuesday and we'll post an update when we have one. Again, many thanks and apologies on this one.
For what it's worth, we've figured out what caused the discrepancy in quantities available, and the vendor has been quite pro-active to make sure that we're given accurate stock levels now.

JonasHeinemanIt is now 5 weeks since this drop closed.
The dozen or so people who were lucky enough to get their kit sent out were gratified immediately; the rest of us are lucky enough to still not know when (or if) to expect this. All the contracts I have with vendors would allow me to sue for breach of contract if they delayed delivery by over 30 days, but clearly Massdrop doesn't have such language or else these kinds of situations wouldn't keep arising.
I don't want to cancel my order, but I'm also very unhappy about having to wait 5+ weeks for information, not to mention whatever additional time it will take for the product to be received and re-shipped to me. I've already decided to not participate in any future J. Herbin drops, and will make sure to comment on any that I see about this experience.
Massdrop needs to work on their communication with their vendors, as this isn't even close to the first time a vendor has only been able to partially fulfill their end of the bargain. Massdrop also needs to understand that they have a purchase agreement with their supplier, and all of us have a purchase agreement with Massdrop, so all of this information about the supplier issues is misdirection to distract us from the fact that Massdrop is as responsible for these issues, in a legal sense, as any of their suppliers.

SmashingTacosNot very promising to be sure. I'm leaning towards tastycat's side in the sense that more transparency between Massdrop, vendor, and the community may be necessary in these situation to preserve confidence.
I like the concept of Massdrop, and perhaps I'm in the minority thinking that whatever was being offered would be available for shipping within 3 weeks maximum. Even for overseas vendors, I'm puzzled as to why shipment cannot be done within that time barring unforeseen circumstances.
Also, it boggles me that if Massdrop has contracted X amount of items with a specific vendor, that vendor should/would have at least half of that amount available for shipping as soon as the drop closed.
I am disappointed because I was #5 joining this drop and still have not received mine.
Another thing, Massdrop should consider other avenues such as discounts on the current or future drops for this type of excessive delay.

JonasHeinemanMore than a week since the last update (which sort of promised an update soon), and we're now over a month past the expected shipping date.
Is it really so difficult to find out when product that have been paid for are being shipped out? Massdrop and/or J. Herbin need to get their shit together on this drop.
